color story

i hid myself away in the art store today. there's something about cloudy grey skies and the best kind of chilly air that make a girl's fingers itch for new rubber erasers ( i have an unhealthy addiction to hoarding erasers...and biting them, but that's another story). i let 7 year old katie fill my basket...and spoiled myself with some new brushes and paints and a box of charcoals. it was a little like christmas.
work has been especially exciting and inspiring lately. so many wonderful adventures on the horizon. i love how seasons overlap and change and bring about fresh ideas and new motivations...and plenty of erasers to stuff in my pockets.

  1. oh, the art store is my very favorite place to shop. I'll pass on the candy store-- give me fresh paint brushes, full, bright tubes of paint, sketch books filled with blank sheets.

    Beautiful photos, as always.

  3. I love the feeling of fresh, new art supplies. I'm a bit of a hoarder when it comes to pens... like those pretty, multi-coloured covered pens. I have a drawer full of pens!
    Beautiful photographs :)

  7. i feel the same way in the school supply section of target or walmart or any such store. and also, the craft store. gimme all the scrapbooking paper in the world, and some beautiful markers and i'm a happy camper.

  19. It has been ages since I've had the time and motivation to paint. So much so that I gave a bunch of my acrylic paints and other supplies to the art teacher at my niece's school. I miss it so much. I envy your new art making materials!
