peanuts and cracker jacks

sunday we tried to soak up as much time together as we could as a little family before we sent max off for some summer adventuring with his dad this week.
matt and i asked max what he wanted to do and the answer was baseball...the answer is almost always baseball! he's a true blue fan, my guy is!

and so we hot dogged and sno-coned and clapped and cheered for our dayton team. max forever tried to remind me of the rules and kept me up on what was really happening during the game...matt marveled at all the little old men eating peanuts.

it was a good day with my boys...

and so my max is away now and i'm at a bit of a loss as to what to do with myself while he's gone. i usually am. although it almost always flies by and i'm sure with sis being so close my time alone will involve cold sweets and elevated feet.
(matt has asked for no spicy food or walking on this last week of work for him in hopes to hold baby girl in...he promised me indian for lunch and dinner and long long walks everyday next week though...i'm ready to meet this gal already!
any labor kick start tricks you have to share?)

happy tuesday, loves!
p.s. dear max, come home soon, why not?
xoxo

  1. Gosh, nothing like a good baseball game. :) I really only go for the food.

  2. I agree, nothing says summer like baseball games. Best wishes in the coming weeks!

  3. I'm glad you got in one more game before the baby comes! Guys are funny. My husband tries to "convince" me to have the baby at convenient times. He'll say things like "You know, it'd be great if you had the baby tomorrow, then I'd have a long weekend." Haha! My midwife always suggests upper-body work to get labor started. So if you're ready for her, then I'd say: scrub those floors!

  5. I'd just like to comment how much I love your blog and look forward to each new post and the photos that you share with all of us. You bring a little extra spot of sunshine to my days. Good luck this week with your mild foods, and next week with the extra-extra spicy! Can't wait until baby girl comes!

  6. Fresh pineapple... I ate it on Monday & Tuesday and had mu lady on Wednesday. I also suggested it to a close friend -- she delivered within two days as well! The bromelain in the pineapple is supposed to soften the cervix. Enjoy these last days of quiet. I can't wait to meet her as well!

  8. Drinking castor oil to kick start labor worked for me Katie. I put it in a frappachino to get it down because it is pretty bad. Well, worse than pretty bad actually! I hope you have a lovely week. Your time out at the ball park looked like a lot of fun!

  11. I heard driving over speed bumps was a cool trick to get labor kick-started. Good luck!

  12. All I did was baseball this weekend. It was so freaking hot, I wouldn't have survived if I was 9 months pregnant. It's always a good time though.

  14. Gosh not long now Katie, how exciting :) Baseball looks like so much fun too by the way, here in Aussie Land it's a rarity to see it.

  17. I hope all goes well for you in the next several days with Baby girl getting so close to being in your arms! I have no tricks to share honestly about labor, I just did alot of walking and staying as productive as possible in the last days before delivering my babies! I found out they come when they are surely ready! Best wishes, and hopes to a speedy delivery for you from NC!!!!

  19. New here, and just wanted to say how much I love your blog. I'm working my way back through the archives, and hope I never run out of posts to read! One silly question... do you let Max take the pictures of you and Matt? Or do you ask strangers to do it? There seem to be a lot of pictures of the three of you, or of the two adults when no one else (seems) to be with you. I love how you are able to get into a lot of your photos. Its something I struggle with...

Oh, and nothing to add for inducing labor. Both of my boys came early.

  20. I tried everything to bring on my labor....nothing worked. In the end I was in labor for 36hours and then needed a C-section. No this is not to scare you, I just think when they are ready to come out and meet the world they will. Just enjoy the time you have with Matt... Max will be home sooner than you know and once again you will be able to kiss his beautiful "boy sweat" head.

  21. My little girlie was 2 weeks early and labor started the night after our local folk-fest ended. Everyone is convinced our baby-girl was either perturbed that the music stopped... or that I hiked the folk-fest hill one too many times. Lots of walking was certainly the trick in my case!

  22. Acupuncture is a gentler way to induce. I hope to try it if the doc doesn't let me go past my due date...

  23. I'm afraid I have no labor inducing advice as I am baby-less, but I just want to say take full advantage of being pampered by your sis and good luck with everything in the next few weeks!

  24. I've only just found your blog, and I just can't get enough of your photos, they are just wonderful.

  25. If you're really ready and up for the challenge, a little, ahem...intimate bedroom session can do the trick (if you catch my drift....) ;)

  27. Ravi watched a few videos of the pressure points to push on for the feet and legs! Within 10 minutes, my water broke and baby Sidd was born the next day! My nieces say it was because they saw me that day and sang Happy Birthday to my belly. I'd say give both a chance!!
