christmas morning

i can hardly believe how quickly christmas came and went.
this year's was such a funny one...full of christmas firsts and lots of traditions and one happy little man.
max woke us up bright and early...squealing that santa had come. (and marking the first time he has ever woke himself up voluntarily on a christmas morning!)
santa brought him all sorts of odds and ends...a joke set, funny socks, a football uniform (which he wore all day long), a drum set...
we spent the rest of the day with family...eating good foods and remembering the truest reason for celebrating.

oh how i love this time of year! but it goes too fast and fast and fast.

  1. This is beautiful. I love all of the colors and the photos are so artful. Just wondering, and this may sound odd...Have you thought about having a baby in the upcoming year? I had a dream that I was reading your blog...and saw you and Matt holding a baby girl and I was surprised!
I've been a reader since your days on LiveJournal...I've enjoyed following the life you've shared here and wish you all the best.

  18. The picture of Max in his football uniform just slays me! It looks like your Christmas was more than merry! You're right, though. Christmas does go too fast. We're going to try to keep the celebrating going for the twelve days, so we're heading to the local museum for their annual Christmas displays today.

  22. I work at a crisis nursery where parents can drop their kids off if they have no other safe childcare options during crisis situations. I spent my Christmas tending to two little boys whose mama went to the hospital to be placed on suicide watch. Reading this post reminded me of all that is good in the world! Thank you for giving your little boy such a magical childhood--every child deserves one, and it is always a joy to see how much fun you have bring happiness to his sweet little face! :)
